Search Preferences

Use this function to change and modify your library's standard settings thus customizing the SISIS-InfoGuide according to your needs.

For guest user settings are valid for the current session.
For registered user all changes are saved permanently and will be available to you during later sessions.

You may use it from the Basic Search as well as the Detailed Search; click the link Back to Search for the search form.

Use the link Selection of Databases to change to this function.

Choose your personal settings from the following selections and Save them:

Default search form	Choose whether you would like to start SISIS-InfoGuide with the Basic Search or Detailed Search.
Search Access including Database Collection	If you have saved a Database Collection by an individual name during an earlier session, you may define it as default here.
Timeout	Maximum amount of waiting time in seconds for receipt of search results. Results received after the lapse of time are not included. For example: Your timeout value 5 renders no or not enough hits, then you ought to increase this value.
Max. Number of Hits	Set the number of hits to be transfered and displayed at the same time (e.g. 10 hits). Use the link "Get further hits" to transfer and display any remaining hits. Transferal of all hits in a single transaction is not feasible as it may take to long. With this value you will also define the following: Number of entries in the display of the Index Number of entries in the display of the Proximity to Class Mark Number of entries in the display of the User Account Number of entries in the display of the List of Interest
Sorting sequence for copies	Choose from the following sorting sequences by branch or by status
Language	Set the language for SISIS-InfoGuide. Currently you may choose between English and German.
Use List of Interest	If you have saved a List of Interest under an individual name during an earlier session, you may define this list as your default.
Search Limitations	Due to the number of databases contacted during searching it is highly likely not all of them can handle your search query or limitations likewise. Therefore, sometimes no feasible results may be gained. To avoid this you may define how to proceed if a database cannot cope with search limitations: either the database in question is omitted completely or the search limitation is ignored, i.e. not be taken into account.

Click Use to activate your settings for the current session, click Save to keep them permanently.
